What to look for in a good pet groomer....
I find it very scary when I need to find a new hair
dresser. I have had bad experiences WE ALL HAVE! well the
same goes for finding a good pet groomer. A good groomer
will talk to you one on one, ask questions, want you to
share details about your pet. A good personality is very
important to me anywhere I may go that I need service done,
such as a Doctor, hair dresser, car mechanic. A good groomer
should ask you details about how you want your pet groomed,
ask if your pet needs special attention and is willing to
work with you to get the groom done on ANY issues.
Compassion and patience are very important. Clean, safe
environment should be on top of your list when searching for
a new groomer. Ask up front if they use tranquilizers. Most
states it illegal. You may want to ask what kind of
experience they have, how long have they been grooming?
Important question to ask is do you use heated dryers? if
they do, ask them if they monitor them on a time limit? Dogs
have been known to over heat and die in such occasions. If
possible ask if your pet be fluffed dried.
A good groomer will have proper equipment, such as proper
table size, recirculation air dryers, hot/cool dryers that
alternate temperature. Ask that your pet be supervised the
entire time while on the grooming table. It doesn't take
much for them to slip off the table.
When away from home and looking for a good groomer, they
will be working with one or two local Vet clinics that will
refer their names. The question is'' HOW FAR WILL YOU TRAVEL
FOR A GOOD TRUST WORTHY GROOMER?''
